2020 Photography Contest Results
We had 45 entries and that gave our two judges a challenging experience. Our judges, professional photographer and instructor John Stalter, and Vince Capp, naturalist and birder, evaluated each photograph independently on a 5-category rubric. We then added their scores to come up with the final results – with each photographer only able to win one monetary award. We should add that the races were VERY close – some being decided by a tiebreak.
There are two more awards to come – the Starkey Park Award, for the best photograph taken in the park, and the People’s Choice Award, which will be chosen by popular vote among visitors to the photography exhibit.

Our awards, including checks, certificates and ribbons, will be awarded at the conclusion of our photography exhibition. We’ll hold the exhibition as soon as we’re able to have gatherings up to 50 people. This way we’ll be able to enjoy the air-conditioned comfort of the Education Center. Once again, we hope to hold it in conjunction with the grand opening of the bird blind, which will hopefully draw more people to appreciate your work.
With sincere thanks for your participation during this challenging time,
